SILVER LAKE APARTMENTS
Located at the base of the hills in Silver Lake, a site is excavated with a series of arced planter walls to create informal communal spaces from which a 4-story building rises and rotates to maximize views of the Silver Lake Reservoir and Griffith Park beyond. A planting palette of bold forms softened with understory overgrowth further the sense of a found site excavated. At the roof top, a series of metal rings create private open space enclosures that appear to move thru a field of wild grasses and sprawling ground cover, connecting to the wild nature in the reservoir beyond.
